Free TEF Canada Preparation: Official Samples and Skill-Matched Practice

Start free TEF Canada preparation with the exam provider's public samples and interface tutorials. Use them to learn the four task shapes, then use free general French material where you need more language practice. Public samples are limited: they are not a full free TEF course, a calibrated mock score or a substitute for the live instructions.

The CCI page also links browser-based interface tutorials for the four skills. Use these to understand where instructions, questions and response controls appear. They are publicly linked training experiences; the provider still controls the live test software. A tutorial click-through is useful even when you cannot finish a paid course or book.

A free, task-matched practice sequence

1. Read the current format first. On CCI's test page, note reading's free navigation, listening's one-play/no-back rule, writing's 80/200-word minimums and the two speaking goals. Our format guide explains the implications.
2. Try one provider reading example. Select an answer and point to the exact supporting text. For extra original evidence-and-distractor drills, use our reading method guide; its questions are unofficial.
3. Try one provider listening example once. Use the booklet and accompanying sound, commit to an answer, then replay only for review. Our listening guide explains the method without pretending written transcripts are listening tests.
4. Write to the right TEF task. Continue a fictional news opening for Section A and defend a view in Section B. Count new A words and check the 200-word B minimum. The A guide and B guide contain original complete models, not provider-approved responses.
5. Speak with another person if possible. In A, ask for missing information and follow the reply. In B, present an offer and respond to a friend's objection. The A dialogue and B dialogue are written illustrations, not timed recordings.

Know the free boundary before registering elsewhere

The provider's preparation page also lists a book and PrepMyTEF, which are separate commercial options. Their presence next to public examples does not make the whole service free. Some centres offer paid preparation packages. Confirm any price, access period and cancellation terms on the seller's live page before purchasing; this article recommends no paid plan and provides no access guarantee.

InfinLume's current TCF Canada practice covers TCF reading and listening. It is not a TEF mock test, and it does not score TEF speaking or writing. For a general French skill drill, use it only with that distinction clear; for TEF format, return to CCI's public materials. A small public sample is enough to learn a decision method, but not enough to infer your NCLC level or readiness for immigration.
