French Technology Vocabulary for Accounts, Files and Email
Use French technology words in complete actions, with Canadian terminology, a support exchange and explained retrieval practice.
Technology vocabulary is useful when you need to explain a problem, send a document or understand a message about account access. Learn the whole action - ouvrir une session, joindre un fichier, enregistrer une copie - instead of memorizing device names alone.
Build an action around each noun

Describe the device and software
Un appareil (m.) is a device; un écran (m.) is its display; un clavier (m.) is used for typing. A precise report is L'écran reste noir, mais le clavier s'allume. Un logiciel (m.) names software, while une application (f.) is a particular program or service. Say J'ai installé le logiciel, puis ouvert l'application if those are two real steps. Larousse records logiciel as masculine and distinguishes it from equipment.
Move and keep information
Des données (f. plural) are information handled by a system; un dossier (m.) can group files; une sauvegarde (f.) is a backup. Use verbs to show direction: J'ai téléversé le fichier vers l'espace partagé means sent it to an online service; J'ai téléchargé une copie sur mon ordinateur means retrieved it to your device in this context. The OQLF distinguishes these directions in technical use, especially in Québec, but notes that télécharger can refer to either direction in general use. State the destination if direction matters. J'ai sauvegardé une copie says you kept one, but does not say where.
Communicate about access
Un identifiant (m.) names the login identifier; une authentification (f.) is the identity-check process; une autorisation (f.) is permission. Je peux m'authentifier, mais je n'ai pas l'autorisation d'ouvrir ce dossier. This separates two possible problems. Un lien (m.) may point to a shared item; un courriel (m.) can carry that link or a pièce jointe. Ask Pourriez-vous me renvoyer le lien ? if the link is what you need.
The OQLF lists fichier joint and pièce jointe for an email attachment. In a sentence, Je joins le fichier au courriel names the action; Le fichier est en pièce jointe describes its location in the message. The OQLF uses infonuagique for cloud computing in Québec, while its entry also records informatique en nuage in France. You do not need the regional term to ask a simple account question, but it helps when reading Canadian notices.

Nadia : Bonjour. Je peux ouvrir l'application, mais je n'arrive pas à accéder à mon compte.
Agent : Voyez-vous un message d'erreur ?
Nadia : Oui. Il apparaît après la saisie de mon mot de passe. Je peux vous décrire le message, sans vous envoyer mon mot de passe.
Agent : Merci. Pouvez-vous préciser quand le problème a commencé ?
Nadia : Ce matin, après la mise à jour. J'avais enregistré une copie du document hier.
Nadia reports the sequence and the visible symptom. Je n'arrive pas à... is a useful, natural way to say an action fails. Après la mise à jour reports timing; it does not prove that the update caused the problem.

Transfer task: write a useful support message
Include the device, the attempted action, the result and the time. A model is Bonjour, sur mon ordinateur, j'ouvre l'application et je peux m'authentifier, mais le dossier partagé reste inaccessible depuis ce matin. Pourriez-vous vérifier mon autorisation d'accès ? This does not guess that the password is wrong; it names the step that succeeds and the step that fails.
